Next Classes Now Enrolling!
Current Classes and a Save the Date
Hello! I’m here with a quick update on now-enrolling classes and a few events on the horizon. Let’s hop into it!
BEGINNER BARBELL CYCLE
The next round of beginner barbell classes starts in two weeks! Two class times are available - Tuesdays at 4:30 and Thursdays at 5:00 - so May 19th and May 21st will be the respective start days.
Curious about what barbell training feels like? Have you wanted to step into this mode of training but have felt scared, intimidated, or out of place? This course is a great way to dip your toes into some of the core movements used to build strength. In this five week cycle, you’ll learn how to squat, bench press, deadlift, and overhead press. Part educational course, part practice, fully a great way to get a deeper understanding about how and why we do what we do when we choose barbells. You’ll get a minimum of three chances to work with each of these movements throughout the five week period. You’ll leave with the knowledge to continue this work in whatever way you want, be it solo, in a gym, or with groups.
Tuesdays at 4:30 or Thursdays at 5:00.
Inside, masks required, air filters running, and some fresh air ventilation
$15-40 per session; $75-200 total
Each session caps at 4 people

KETTLEBELLS FOR LUNCH
Kettlebells for Lunch is happening every Friday in May at 1:00 PM. We had our first session and it was a cute fun time. But just because we’ve already started, doesn’t mean you can’t jump in. This class is a laid back introduction to kettlebells. In it, we’ll be learning standard kettlebell movements like swings, cleans, and snatches, and we’ll also be going over some basic strength movements and the adjustments we make for them when using kettlebells instead of barbells. The end goal is that you have the knowledge and experience to do your own kettlebell workout at home. I find kettlebells to be a way easier way to get into home workouts because you can build your collection over time and they take up just a small amount of space.
This class time was a bit harder to get people to sign up for so I don’t think I’ll be running this time again. But that means if the folks doing it want to keep coming after the official end date, I have the ability to extend this indefinitely.
Once again, fill out the form or just email me.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEADLIFT 3
Save the date! Night of the Living Deadlift returns for a third year!!! This year it will be taking place on Sunday, September 27th from 5:00-10:00 PM at Pentridge Station!! Pentridge is my favorite outdoor venue in West Philly and I am beyond thrilled that they have opened their doors to this event. It’s gonna be bigger and better than ever here - drinks for sale, fresh hot food, vendors, *actual* bathrooms. Registration to participate will open sometime in June!
And once again I will be running my 8 week course From Greet to Meet every Thursday at 6:00 in August and September. This class is designed to take people who have never lifted before or are feeling very rusty and get them mentally and physically ready to participate in the meet. Registration for this will also begin in June. Keep an eye out! Or email me if you want me to add you to the list of interested people.
Okay, that’s all for now! I have 3 fun social plans in the works but that’s for another time.
