Spring Classes Are Starting Soon!
How to get involved
Hello! Welcome to my new newsletter! I outgrew the old platform and had to move to substack. Let’s keep this as short as possible.
First, I worked very hard over the winter expanding my gym to make it larger. Same location, just moved into a bigger room. This is so I can host group classes with a higher person capacity and also have them be able to happen more consistently without weather affecting them or all the damn mosquito bites. Outside lifting platforms are still open and able to be used, but now they’re not the only option available for group sessions!
Being able to host group classes inside has been a game changer for my Wednesday 6:00 drop in class. Instead of watching it die every winter, it has been growing and flourishing. The invite is open to all of you to come lift with us any Wednesday that you want! Email me and I’ll send you the sign up calendar. Class will cap at 10 people now that all 5 platforms will be up and ready. You only need a basic understanding of lifts to join. I’m there to offer advice, feedback, tips, and answer questions. $15-40 per session! As always, masks required.
Next, I’m kicking off Spring with the start of 3 classes! Beginner Barbell is back! The First 10 Weeks, a new class that takes the beginner class and expands on it, is something I’m excited about. And finally, I’m bringing kettlebells back with a Friday afternoon class designed to get you started on an at-home routine. The bottom of this has all the info for each of them.
Looking further into spring, me and my friend Kiara will be holding a fun playground hang at the Anna C Verna playground at FDR park in mid-May. And in June, we’ll be having a pride month lift and grill session. It’ll be cute!
Okay! Signing off. Fill out the interest form in the link below or just email me if you want to join any of the classes! Some of them are filling up kind of quick but none of them are full yet!

Beginner Barbell Cycle
Starts March 31st for Tuesdays and April 2nd for Thursdays.
After a winter hiatus, the Beginner Barbell Cycle returns! Curious about what barbell training feels like? Have you wanted to step into this mode of training but have felt scared, intimidated, or out of place? This course is a great way to dip your toes into some of the core movements used to build strength. In this five week cycle, you’ll learn how to squat, bench press, deadlift, and overhead press. Part educational course, part practice, fully a great way to get a deeper understanding about how and why we do what we do when we choose barbells. You’ll get a minimum of three chances to work with each of these movements throughout the five week period. You’ll leave with the knowledge to continue this work in whatever way you want, be it solo, in a gym, or with groups.
Tuesdays at 4:30 or Thursdays at 5:00.
Inside, masks required, air filters running, and some fresh air ventilation
$15-40 per session; $75-200 total
Each session caps at 4 people
The First 10 Weeks:
Foundations of Strength
Starts April 7th.
Do you want a guiding hand to lead you into a lifelong movement practice? Would you like to learn the movements, the science behind the practice, adjustable programming to meet your needs, and get 10 weeks of training with a small group of beginners?
This 10 week course takes the root of the Beginner Barbell Cycle and expands on it. In the first six weeks, you’ll learn how to squat, bench press, deadlift, overhead press, and row. In addition, you’ll also learn the current best practices for building strength, training, and programming. And finally, you’ll get 4 full additional weeks to run a program, get experience lifting, build familiarity and confidence with training, and maybe make a workout buddy or two! Part lecture, part practice, fully a great way to guide you through your first 10 weeks of training and into a lifetime of autonomous strength!
Tuesdays at 5:30
Inside, masks required, air filters running, and some fresh air ventilation
$15-40 per session; $150-400 total

5 Week Kettlebells For Lunch
Starts April 10th
Looking for a midday workout routine that you can do at home? Try Kettlebells For Lunch! Kettlebells are a great tool to get started with a strength and cardio routine. Unlike barbells, they are compact, easily stored, and a collection of them can be built incrementally over time so they don’t require a large up-front financial investment.
This class will teach you how to squat, hinge, swing, and press with kettlebells. In addition, you will get a lot of time to practice these movements and learn some foundational training routines that work well with kettlebells. And through that practice, you’ll get a sense of what kettlebells you would need at home to meet you where you’re at. Get a jumpstart to what can become a consistent practice for you from the comfort of your own home!
Fridays at 1:00
Inside, masks required, air filters running, and some fresh air ventilation
$15-40 per session; $75-200 total
